The 14u Sc Storm 07 team placed 2nd in the USSSA Battle for the Bling rings tourney this weekend falling to the SI Freedom in the finals 5-4. Kyra Swift went 2-3 with a double and RBI. Kenna Roley also had a hit. Rhyan Fiscus and Lauren Johnson worked in the circle.
In the semifinal, SC beat Mascoutah 11-1 in four innings. Lauren Johnson tripled and drove in 3, Kyra Swift homered as part of her 2-3 day with 2 RBI. Ella Watwood, Abi Shuler and Addie Holloway also had RBI with Shuler and Holloway hitting doubles. Johnson worked all four innings allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run with 5 ks.
SC opened Sunday with a 5-1 win over the Fury. Kaitlyn Swift went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Kyra Swift had 2 hits with a single from Addie Holloway. She also scored a run along with Alli Lammers. Watwood was the winning pitcher allowing 4 hits and no earned runs.
On Saturday SC lost to the Sullivan Sizzle 6-5. In the loss, Kylie Nalewajka tripled, doubled and drove in 2. Kyra Swift added an RBI and Kenna Roley scored twice. SC beat the Spartans 8-4. 3 RBI from Kyra Swift with 2 from Kaitlyn. SC opened the tournament with an 11-1 loss to Mt Zion.
