Wildcats Head To TTown For Regional Semifinal At 7:30

The Salem Wildcats will head to Teutopolis tonight to take on the top-seeded Wooden Shoes under the lights starting at 7:30.  Salem earned their way to the semifinals with an 8-3 play-in win over Lawrenceville on Wednesday afternoon.

Also today in 2a regional semifinals, Benton hosts Carmi, Breese Central welcomes Carlyle, Roxana at Mater Dei, Waltonville goes to Trico, Staunton at Carlinville, Gibault at Columbia, DuQuoin hosts Pinckneyville, Mt Carmel hosts Robinson, Greenville at Flora, Hillsboro at Gillespie, Massac goes to Harrisburg, Nashville hosts Red Bud, Vandalia at Newton, Hoopeston at Paris, Litchfield at North Mac, West Frankfort hosts Vienna and Zeigler welcomes Murphysboro.

Yesterday in 2a, Carmi over Johnston City 8-4 and Massac County got by Eldorado 2-1.

In 1a boys regionals today, the Odin Eagles will open post season play at Metro East Lutheran at 4:30, Casey at Arthur, St Anthony hosts Hutsonville, Mulberry Grove at Father McGivney, Dieterich at North Clay, Beecher goes to Neoga, Dupo at Okawville, Wayne City at Elverado, Windsor/Stew Stras at Cumberland, Woodlawn hosts Marissa.

In 4a regional semifinals today, Belleville East hosts Granite City, West is at home with Alton, Edwardsville hosts Collinsville and Quincy is at O’Fallon.

In 3a play last night, Mattoon nipped Effingham 1-0.  Today the Centralia Orphans will host Herrin at 4:30, Jerseyville at Charleston, Taylorville at Chatham, Highland hosts Civic Memorial, Cahokia at Mascoutah, Mt Vernon welcomes Carbondale, Springfield Southeast at Mt Zion, Marion and Waterloo play at SIU Carbondale with Triad hosting Olney.
