The Peoples National Bank Pony League team improved to 4-1 and won their 4th straight following their 6-1 win last night over Minor League. Heydin Purcell worked the first 3 innings in getting the win, Keaton Gullion followed with 2 hitless innings of relief and Noah Nix got the final 6 outs. At the plate, Gullion blasted a long RBI triple and scored a couple of runs, Payton Gullion laid down a perfect safety squeeze for an RBI and scored; Braden Rector and Heydin Purcell also had RBI along with Caleb Purintun. Armoni Dempsey drove in the only run for Minor League in the opening inning. He worked the first 3 on the mound taking the loss with Kam Wilkins finishing the final 3 innings.
In Boys Majors, IGA came back to beat Americana as Zane Dodson cracked a walk-off, 3-run homer for the win. IGA trailed 6-0 after 3 and 9-6 heading into the final inning. Drake Rector threw well for IGA keeping them in the game. Titus Thompson finished with 2 hits, Brant added one as well.
The Rotary Reds are 8-0 after their 17-2 win over Lions. Jaret Gibson was the winning pitcher allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with 12 strikeouts. Kyler King and riley Tate homered. Landon Maxey added a triple and Kai Johnston doubled and tripled. For Lions, Evan Barnes doubled and Logan Butts struck out 7 on the mound.
In Boys Minors, Marion County Savings Bank beat Elks 3-1. Jax Schaubert went 3 innings striking out 7 and gave up just 1 run. Benny Bryan closed out the game striking out the last six batters. Tanner Puritun led MCSB with a single, triple and 2 RBI. Schaubert added a single as well.
Edward Jones beat Squibb Tank 2-0. At the plate, Tripp Garden and Emmitt Gibson both had hits. Gerryn Tabor doubled driving in 2. Owen Tennyson struck out 7 in the victory. Gibson struck out 5 with the two inning save.
In girls coach pitch softball, Bandy’s earned a 17-9 victory.
