The Salem 14u went 1-2 at the GMB Tournament in O’Fallon. Salem opened Saturday with a 11-5 win over the Catch 31 Legends. With Salem down 4-3 in the top of the fifth, Keaton Gullion singled home the tying run and the flood gates opened with the Cats scoring 8 in the frame. Colten Starnes and Rhett Detering drove in 3 runs each. Also with RBI were Deytin Parker, Heydin Purcell and Luke Young.
Salem then dropped their final game Saturday 3-2 to the St Louis Riverdogs. Cooper Lobek drove in the Salem run. Parker added 2 hits with singles also from Purcell, Rhett Detering, Colton Shelton, Ayden Rose and Gullion.
Salem dropped their elimination day opener to the Illinois Sun Devils 9-2. Parker and Aden Bass drove in the Salem runs. Rhett and Ryan Detering and Gullion added the other hits.
