Salem Gets 2 Runs Late To Beat Carlyle….SC Now 15-3 After Rout Of Dieterich

Eli Rose and Griffin Day came up with big RBI in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Salem came back late to beat Carlyle 2-1 in Cahokia play.  Isaak Williams scored along with Brayden Aaron to make a winner out of Quentin Purcell.  The senior went the distance allowing 2 hits and no earned runs with 5 strikeouts and needed just 76 pitches to do it.  Salem improves to 7-13 on the season as they host Okawville this afternoon.  The JV will travel to play the Rockets.

The SC Cougars improved to 15-3 on the year with an 11-4 win over Dieterich at Lions Field.  Chase Dodson and Sam Rubin homered in the win.  Dodson drove in 2 along with Beau Jolliff.  Sebastian Cowger finished with 3 RBI and a run scored.  Also driving in runs were Hunter Cripe and Spencer Johannes.  Aiden Dodson was the winning pitcher going 3.1 allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run.  Cowger and Ethan Dunn finished the game on the mound.
