The City of Centralia has returned to in-person meetings. Zoom was still offered, but there was room for everyone who wanted to attended in-person.
The council also approved resolutions to allow other activities to return as well. They include the Closure of Various City Streets for the upcoming Juneteenth Celebration, The Veteran’s Fourth of July Parade, and various Halloween Parade and Fall Festival activities.
The council passed a resolution seeking repair or demolition of seven more homes. They are at 400 South Cherry, 436 and 429 South Elm, 615 South Pine, 650 North Walnut, 306 North Maple and 1020 South Cherry.
A resolution was approved to allow motor fuel tax funds to be used for upcoming improvements to the entire length of Blackberry Run.
The council agreed to place yield signs on West Sixth at the Bond Street intersection. City Manager Forrest Langenfeld says a serious injury accident occurred at the intersection and in a review of the crash the additional signage was recommended. City Clerk Kim Enke announced the yearly leases for lake lots
have been mailed. After no cost of living increase last year, there is a 5.1-percent increase this year. The first installment is due on August 1st.
