The Salem 9u Wildcats finished a strong tournament hosted at the Little League Complex over the weekend finishing 2nd to the St Clair Stars. Salem fell in the title game 9-1. Emit Gibson had a hit and a run with Devan Jennings had the other Salem hit.
In the semifinal, Salem routed Vandalia 18-9. Jacob Butts, Gibson and Dakota Gregg each homered in the win. Butts and Gregg drove in 4, Gibson 3, 2 RBI each from Tanner Purintun and EJ Wolfe. Grant Squibb and Ben Lux also drove in runs along with Jennings.
Salem opened tournament play with a 12-9 win over Centralia. Gibson drove in 4, Jennings 3 with RBI each from Purintun and Butts.
