The Salem Community High School Prom is Friday night. This year’s theme is “Remember When” and the colors representing the theme are rose gold and burgundy.
The event will be held in BE Gum Gymnasium, but there will be limited spectators allowed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Each court member and performer is being permitted 10 guests. Wabash Catch TV West will be live streaming the event on YouTube and will produce a professionally videotaped DVD that will be sold after Prom for $20 by contacting Wabash Communications.
This year’s Prom Queen candidates are Abigail Smith, Makayla Becker, Kaitlyn Banning, Isabella Timmerman-Miller, and Keyless Wildman. King candidates are Julian Huggins, Quentin Purcell, Keyton Mitchell, Griffin Snodsmith, and Riley Donoho.
Junior Prom Court attendants are Sydney Donoho, Emmaleigh Brandon, Mataya Petrea, Mariah Webster, Katelyn Biegeleisen, Grant Purcell, Brayden Aaron, Steven Mulvaney, Conner Teriet, and Tyler Tanner.
The Name Bearers are Rhyan Heinzmann, the daughter of Grant and Lynnsey Heinzmann of Salem, and Koleson Green, the son of Jason and Trina Green of Salem.
Introductions, welcome, and three singers will perform beginning at 9:15 pm with coronation starting at 9:30 pm and the Grand March immediately following the coronation. Retiring King Eric Wescher and Retiring Queen Madison Lockhart will lead the coronation. The Special Entertainment is being provided by Junior Mataya Petrea and Seniors Isabelle Murphy and Chloe Beal.
For Prom 2021, students will enter Prom through the front gym lobby entrance of SCHS. Red carpet arrival with spectator viewing will be near Door 18, 19, and 20 in the front. Prom attendees will use Jefferson Street to line up for arrivals and proceed north behind Jumping Jimmy’s and then across Seneff into the new bus lane. Authorized guests should enter door 11 in the back of the building and register. No tickets will be provided.
