The Salem Wildcats are 4-10 after splitting their double header at Nashville on Saturday. Salem dropped the opener 8-2. Aden Susmena doubled for the Cats. Eli Rose drove in a run and Isaak Williams went 2-3.
In the 2nd game, Salem scored 9 times in the opening inning on their way to a 10-4 victory. Rolen Adams, Quentin Purcell and Williams each drove in 2 runs. RBI also came from Hunter Daniels, Blane Phillips and Brayden Aaron. Griffin Day was the winning pitcher going 5.2 allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.
Salem is back in action today when they host Wesclin.
The SC Cougars are 10-3 after falling at Flora on Saturday 5-2. Chase Thompson drove in a run and Sebastian Cowger had 3 of the Cougars 6 hits on the day. At 10-3 the Cougars still sit 2 wins shy of both 1000 wins for the program and 800 for coach Curt Jones. They have a chance to get to that milestone today as they are scheduled to play a double header at Altamont this afternoon.
