High School Softball: Salem and South Central post wins

The Salem Lady Cats softball team improved to 3-1 overall and won their conference opener with a 5-1 win at Wesclin.  Maya Susmena was 2-4 with 2 RBI.  She also tripled.  Katlyn Banning was 2-2 with 2 runs scored.  Delaney Kell also added a hit.  The Lady Cats will travel to Waltonville for a doubleheader today starting at 11.

South Central routed St Elmo/Brownstown 16-0, outhitting them 21-1.  Sydnee Garrett earned the win for SC.  At the plate, Taegan Webster homered and drove in a pair and finished a triple shy of the cycle.  Garrett added a home run and was also a triple shy of the cycle as she drove in 5.  Brooklynn Garrett doubled twice and drove in a pair.  SC is 6-2, 2-0 in the NTC with a trip to Ramsey on Monday.
