High School Baseball: South Central wins; Salem and CORLHS record loses

Salem dropped to 0-4 in prep baseball falling in their conference opener at Wesclin 8-5.  Salem got down early trailing 4-1 after the opening inning.  At the plate, Carter Rose doubled twice and scored a pair of runs.  Isaak Williams went 2-4 with 2 RBI.  Hunter Daniels and Griffin Day drove in the other Salem runs.  Trent Boles worked 3.1 innings allowing 6 hits and 5 earned runs.  Brighton Lucas worked the final 2.2 allowing 6 hits and 2 runs with 5 strikeouts.  Kahroff got the win for Wesclin going all 7 innings needing only 66 pitches to strike out 10 and walk 3 allowing 10 hits and 3 earned runs.  Salem returns to action today with a doubleheader at Mascoutah starting at 11.

The SC Cougars improved to 5-1, bouncing back from their first loss of the year to St Anthony as they defeat the Lions of Edwards County 2-0.  Spencer Johannes worked the complete game for the Cougars allowing just 4 hits and struck out 90.  He also had one of the 3 Cougars hits along with Beau Jolliff and Aiden Dodson.  Both SC runs were unearned.

Christ Our Rock fell to CHBC 12-6 as the Stallions trailed 9-0 after 3.5 innings.  Driving in runs for the Stallions were Pryor, Ramsour, Brammier and Peltes.
