Carolyn Petersen, 69, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 4:34 am February 7, 2021, at her residence in Bluford.

She was born December 27, 1951, in Christopher, Illinois to the late Edward “Buck” and Eva Lee (Uhls) Overturf. Carolyn married Ed Petersen on June 21, 1972, in Opdyke, Illinois.
In addition to her loving husband of forty-eight years, Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Mychelle Minor and husband, Kyle of Mount Vernon, Illinois; son, Brandyn Petersen of Bluford, Illinois; grandchildren, Gage Minor and wife, Diana of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Isaac Minor and wife, Kara of Indiana, Kadi, Emmali, Alyson, and William Petersen all of Mount Vernon, Illinois; great-grandson, Kayleb Minor of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sisters, Sharon, Linda, Becky, Jamie, and identical twin, Marilyn; brother, Casey; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Butch. Mrs. Petersen worked as a Post Master for several years and she retired from the Springerton Post Office. She was a member of Central Christian Church and will be dearly missed.
