Yvonne Griffin, 76, of Centralia, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at her home. Yvonne was of the Christian Faith. She was the co-owner of Poplar Street Interiors prior to her retirement. After retirement, she still enjoyed decorating and designing. She loved playing Rummy with her family. Her biggest joy has been watching her grandsons and their teammates play basketball, baseball, and soccer. Even while she was sick, she rarely missed a game regardless of where they traveled to.
Graveside Services for Yvonne Griffin will be held Monday, February 1, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Centralia Foundation and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, IL 62801 (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Griffin family. She married Danny Griffin on March 21, 1964, in Centralia and he survives her. In addition to her husband Danny of 56 years, she is survived by one daughter: Lisa Griffin of Centralia; one son: Blake Griffin and wife Lori of Centralia; two grandsons: Bradley and Lane Griffin of Centralia; and two sisters and their families.
Yvonne was born August 27, 1944, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of J.D. Anderson and Lila (Anderson) Chapman. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents: J.D. Anderson and Lila Chapman.
