Fred Fleiss, 75, of Salem, Illinois passed away January 23, 2021 at the Odin Care Center. Fred was retired from North American Lighting in Salem. He faithfully attended First Baptist Church in Salem. His family and friends will remember him as a great jokester. He will also be remembered for his easy nature, for liking people, and for being liked and appreciated in return by many friends and acquaintances
Direct cremation was selected and there will be no public visitation or service at this time. The family suggest those wishing to remember Fred can make a memorial to The Salem Pregnancy Care Clinic, and will be accepted by the family, or sent to Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O. Box 97, Salem, IL 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care.
He was married to Linda Nell Smith, May 13, 1967 in Anaheim, CA, and she survives in Salem, along with their children Michael (Ocieanna) Fleiss of Maple Valley, WA, Poppy (Matthew) Tackett and Jonathan Fleiss all of Salem, along with grandchildren Benjamin, Gabrielle, Christian and Abigail Fleiss. Also left to mourn his passing is a sister, Kathleen Sprague, Carlsbad, CA.
Born September 5, 1945 in Long Beach, CA, he was the son of Christopher O. and Lillian (Hogg) Fleiss who preceded him in death.
