Kay Frances (Hayes) Schubert, 78, of Centralia, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Kay worked at Wonder Bread Company for 12 years until her retirement. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Centralia. Kay enjoyed collecting Fenton Glass Wear, embroidering and teaching her daughter, Tammy, how to make scrumptious cheesecakes. Kay loved spending time her family and friends.

Per Kay’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. In Honor of Kay, memorial donations may be made to Kay’s great-grandson, Abe Stover, College Fund and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Kay’s Family. She married Gerald L. Schubert and he survives in Centralia. In addition to her husband, Gerald “Gerry” L. Schubert of Centralia; she is also survived by her three children: Tammy Smith and husband George of Centralia, Tyann Alli of Centralia, and Ricky Skibinski and wife Ann of Mississippi; two step sons: Randolph Schubert and Michael Schubert both of Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: JoAnn Hayes of Rockford and Mary Hayes of Centralia; several nieces and nephews.

She was born September 1, 1942 in Litchfield, the daughter of Charles Virgil Hayes and Harriett (Josephson) Hayes. Kay was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Harriett Hayes, a son: Michael Skibinski, a grandson: Andrew Skibinski, and two brothers: Gilbert Hayes and Thomas Hayes.
