Anita Flanagan, 56, of Sandoval, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Anita was the unifier and peacekeeper of the family. She was a strong believer in the saying that “blood is thicker than water” and would be there at a drop of hat for anyone. Anita was remembered to smoke, relax, and watch movies with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Funeral Service for Anita Flanagan will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 10:00 am at the Greenview Christian Church with Pastor Wesley Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Sandoval Cemetery in Sandoval. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Anita’s family. Anita was born December 30, 1964, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Max L. Taylor and Lenora V. (Poore) Taylor. She married Darren Flanagan on October 23, 2003, in Salem and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2006.
Anita is survived by her five children: Billi Jo Taylor and husband Mason Subhi, Kelly Taylor-Schulte and husband Brian Bierman, Jami Schulte and husband Miguel Montaya, Christina Wynn and husband Steven Berger, and Joshua Schulte; twenty-one grandchildren: Rachel Teague, Aiden Dalton-Taylor, Elizabeth Lee, Kimberly Taylor, Brian Bierman Jr., McKayla Bierman, K’Lynn Taylor-Schulte, Abygayle Taylor-Schulte, Aribella Taylor-Schulte, Gabriel Taylor-Schulte, Aron Villegas-Taylor, Nyeli Garcia-Murcia, Blanca Garcia-Murcia, Delimar Garcia-Marcia, Marcello Garcia-Murcia, Adrian Bowers, Zerrakia Wright, Dakota Maxfield, Travis Maxfield Jr., Grovena Maxfield, and Lilliona Berger; four sisters: Cheryl Lynn Pozdol, Sharon Lee Wood, Kimberly Louise Hodge and husband Kevin, and Michele Lenette Ramsey and husband Bill; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband Darren Flanagan, her parents: Max and Lenora Taylor, and a sister: Theresa Lucille Taylor.
