Danny L. Flanagan, 63, of Thompsonville, Illinois, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away at 11:06 pm January 1, 2021, at his home.
He was born December 1, 1957, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Buddy and Rossie (Hall) Flanagan. Danny married Shirley Jean (Huston) Flanagan on October 11, 2003, and she survives in Thompsonville.
In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by two sons, Tyler Flanagan of Georgia and Tim (Angie) Burns of Thompsonville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and brother, Terry Flanagan of Mount Vernon.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son, Danny Flanagan, Jr., and brother, Charley Flanagan.
Danny worked as a Truck Driver and enjoyed woodworking, boating, and camping. He is dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Sursa Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois with Pastor Don Bullard officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Danny’s honor to the Flanagan family, in the care of Shirley Jean Flanagan. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time.
