Steven Arthur Brazel, age 64 of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Steven served in the United States Army. He worked at Brown Shoe Company, where he was the Union President. Then he worked as a truck driver for Hogan Transport, and most recently at the Walgreens Distribution Center for over 20 years.
Funeral services for Steven Brazel will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Claude Howell officiating. Burial will follow at the Bell Cemetery in Iuka. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, January 2nd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Steven was born on July 25, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Robert Arthur and Opal Pearl (Weems) Brazel.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy K. Brazel of Joliet; granddaughter, Kailey Hulihan of Joliet; uncle, Charles Weems of Salem; and multiple cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Randall Gene Brazel.
