The Marion County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 23-year-old Nashville man after receiving a complaint he was walking in the roadway and throwing rocks at vehicles on the Tonti Road near Route 37. Alexander Bird of West St. Louis Street was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance after he was allegedly found in possession of a substance that field tested positive for heroin.
He was also arrested for disorderly conduct for allegedly throwing the rocks. A 35-year-old rural Salem woman was taken to the Marion County Jail Sunday night after her car ran into a ditch along the 33-hundred block of West Boone Street Road in Salem. Jessica Gillis of Selmaville Road is being held for alleged driving under the influence, improper lane usages and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
