With the IHSA and State of Illinois putting the hold on high school basketball until at least through December, several standouts have already opted to leave the state for others that are allowing a basketball season.
The latest stars that will be leaving Illinois according to PrepHoops Illinois’ Scott Burgess is Thornton 2021 guard Sean Burress and TF North 2021 guard Julius Byrd both transferred to Hammond, Indiana.
Glenbard North forward Jerry Abushanab is transferring to Link Year Prep in Missouri and will reclassify to 2022.
That brings the list of Illinois high school basketball players to transfer out of state to at least 42 since the 2019-20 season ended.
