Patricia Ann Tyo Lackey, 81, of Centralia, IL passed away at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital on November 7, 2020. Patricia attended St. Vincent’s School in Syracuse, NY. She graduated with a BA from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY and did graduate work at the University of Illinois at Champaign. Patricia was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Centralia, IL and was a homemaker. In addition to raising seven children, she was an expert knitter as well as an accomplished seamstress. Patricia enjoyed refinishing antiques and raising orchids. She was a member of the Little Egypt Orchid Club, a member of the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and The Knitting Guild in St. Louis, MO. Patricia will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Private Services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia with Father Steve Paulter officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. A visitation time to offer condolences to Patricia’s family will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 12, 2020 P.M. at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia, where those in attendance will be asked to wear a mask and the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Patricia’s honor to the family’s wishes. She married George C. Lackey on November 4, 1961 and he survives in Centralia. Patricia was blessed and survived by one sister, Nancy Piontek and husband Walter of Virginia; seven children, George T. Lackey and wife LeeAnn of Centralia, IL, Dr. Margaret Lackey of Denver, CO, Douglas Lackey of Naples, FL, Helen Lackey DeNigris and husband Marc of East Haven, CN, David Lackey and wife Tammy of Alton, IL, Nancy Lackey of Centralia, Il, and Matthew Lackey of Jacksonville, FL. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and expecting 3 more in April.
She was born on November 21, 1938 the daughter of Floyd Tyo and Lillian M. McCassey in Syracuse, NY.
