A 33-year-old Central City man faces Class X charges of armed violence and possession with intent to deliver between 15 and 100 grams of methamphetamine in the aftermath of leading Sandoval Police on a high-speed chase on Tuesday.
Nathan Hale of North Harrison faces eight charges in all, including possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving and driving with a revoked driver’s license.
After his first appearance in court, Judge Wes Gozia ordered Hale held without bond after being found to pose a real and present threat to the safety of the community as he is a prior felon who was alleged to be in possession of a firearm while committing new felony offenses. The judge also found Hale was a flight risk due to pending charges and his hostile attitude to the judicial process.
A preliminary hearing was set for June 2nd. A public defender has been appointed to represent Hale.
