Jeremy Dion Szopinski, 43, of Centralia passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Jeremy was of the Baptist Faith. He was a free spirit. He enjoyed life and loved music. He also enjoyed the outdoors. He especially liked fishing, hiking, and camping. He will be remembered for his tie die tee shirts and charismatic personality. He will be dearly missed.
Per Jeremy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held. In addition to his parents: Henry and Peggy Szopinski of Nashville, Jeremy is survived by his significant other: Carly Lashbrook of Texas; two daughters: Sunny and Starla Szopinski of Texas; one sister: Tara Finke and husband Jason of Nashville; two nieces: Daci and Degyn Finke of Nashville; one grandmother: Kathryn James; many aunts and uncles: Debbie Stankus, Bryan Murray and wife Amy, Allen Kwiatkowski, Leona Wroblewski and husband Ben, John Szopinski and wife Jennifer, James Szopinski, Louise Malawy and husband Don, Rosemary Witges and husband Gerald, Fran Beetly and husband Dale, Steve Szopinski and wife Judi, Tony Szopinski and wife Betty, Marion Szopinski and wife Holly, and Mary Senior-Frese, and several cousins.
Jeremy was born April 11, 1978 in Marion County, the son of Henry Szopinski and Peggy (Murray) Szopinski and they survive him in Nashville, IL. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Murray, Frank Szopinski, and Anne Szopinski; two uncles: Alan Stankus and Paul Free; and aunt: Elizabeth Kwiatkowski.
