Renate Middleton, age 84 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Salem Township Hospital. She was of the Catholic Faith. She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, word searches, and watching Westerns. Most of all she loved being with her family.
Funeral services for Renate Middleton will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. There will be a visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the Bell Cemetery in Kell. Memorial contributions can be made to the family and left at the Crouse Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Pollard and husband Rod of Salem, Chris Lansford and husband Everett of Centralia; son, Mark Middleton and wife Sharon of Salem; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Renate was born on May 9, 1936, in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Maria Gornik. She married William E. “Bill” Middleton on May 3, 1960, in Frankfort, Germany, and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; one son, Tony Middleton; and two great-great-grandsons, Wade and Wyatt Holman.
