State Police say a 51-year-old Peoria man was injured when his SUV ran off Interstate 57 near milepost 132 and the Blomberg Road north of Kinmundy Monday morning.
Preliminary investigation indicates Kenneth Thomas sustained a medical episode and left the right side of the interstate. It then crossed through a ditch, through several fences, and eventually struck a tree located at the residence on Blomberg Road.
Thomas was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was ticketed for improper lane usage.
The crash occurred at nine Monday morning.
