Two Carbondale residents have been arrested in connection with the death of a three-year-old female.
Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 7 agents say 45-year-old Iassc Hill and 41-year-old Katrina Simelton were arrested on Class Three Felony charges of child endangerment.
The three-year-old was pronounced deceased after being taken to an area hospital on June 22nd. ISP notified the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services of the investigation. An autopsy was conducted in Bloomington on Thursday.
Hill and Simelton are being held in lieu of $250,000 bond at the Jackson County Jail.
A collaborative effort by ISP investigators, Carbondale Police, DCFS, Jackson County Coroner’s Office, and the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
