The long vacant Borowiak’s IGA building on East McCord Street in Centralia has a new owner and a plan for future use.
A and B Venture Capital, LLC has purchased the 25,000 square foot building with plans to convert it into all inside climate controlled storage space.
The two principals in the project are Chase Alcorn and Bobby Brenneisen.
Alcorn says they are working with Janus International on retrofitting the building to house units that will be as large as 14 to 40 feet. Roofing and other work will also be required on the building.
Alcorn notes there are two other businesses offering climate controlled storage and are full, so he feels there is a need for another facility.
A and B Venture Capital, LLC has also obtained a special use permit to construct a car wash on the property, but those plans are at least a couple years down the road.
Borowiak’s IGA in Centralia closed in the summer of 2019.
