Salem has a new home fashion store.

Sterling Avenue has opened in the Westgate Shopping Center offering a variety of items to decorate your home.

The store is owned by Paul and Lynn Reihm.

Paul explains the concept.

“We actually came up with it because we flip homes in Salem and the surrounding areas.  So we decided to expand it to home and décor for a lot of our flip homes and customers, we also do kitchen and bath remodeling.  So that’s where we came up with the idea to open the store so customers wouldn’t have to drive very far to get what they needed.”

Lynn Reihm picked out the products for many of the homes as well as the store.

“We have a lot of home décor items like area rugs, some small furniture accent pieces.  Not the big recliners, but accent chairs and small couches.  We do have more furniture coming, we don’t have a lot of it right now, but we have a lot of the small and big artwork, fake plants and all sorts of decorations for any room in your home.”

Reihm is also a teacher in the South Central School District, a position she will keep.

Sterling Avenue will be open 10 to 5:30 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, ten to seven on Thursday, and ten to four on Saturday.
