Virginia Helen (Wright) Ross, age 85, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Odin, Illinois, died peacefully on April 15, 2022. Virginia liked to paint, garden, and read, and dabbled in different crafts over the years. She and Joe loved to travel and go dancing. She graduated from Salem High School in 1954. Joe and Virginia met when he taught her brother George, and they were married in 1957.
Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Dustin Belcher officiating. Interment will be in the Andereck-McClelland Cemetery in Sandoval. A visitation time will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home in Sandoval. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Virginia’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association. Virginia is survived by daughter Susan, son Joe (Maggie), son David, sister Nancy (Joe) Covey, sister-in-law Debbie Wright and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted Grandma to Amanda, Joshua, Isabella, Emma, and Joe.
Virginia was born June 22, 1936, in Checotah, Oklahoma, and grew up in Odin, Illinois. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of nearly sixty-two years, Joseph Ross. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Helen (Steen) Wright, brother George Wright, brothers-in-law George Ross and John Belcher, sister-in-law Mary Katherine ‘Sis’ (Ross) Belcher, son-in-law Tom Pockrandt, and nephew Mike Belcher.
