William D. Schlott, age 64, of Vincennes, IN, entered into rest on May 31, 2022, at IU Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. William (Doug) was born on November 23, 1957, in Breese, Illinois as the first son of William and Ruth Ann (Burch) Schlott.
Doug was a retired coal miner of more than 30 years and loved his family, wife, children, and grandchildren, and he enjoyed collecting coins and sports cards.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Erna “Christiansen” Burch; paternal grandmother, Sylvia C. “Davenport” Schlott; grandfather, Bernard W. Schlott; mother, Ruth A. “Burch” Schlott; father, William B. Schlott; infant sister, Deborah K. Schlott; and his brothers, Steve B. Schlott and Raymond L. Schlott.
William is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Zidar) Schlott Of Vincennes; Son, William D. Schlott (Jennifer); Daughters, Crystal D. Mendoza (Jose Jesus) of Indianapolis, Savannah Blessinger (Mathew) of Vincennes; six grandchildren, Christopher, Braxton, Kohlson, Celeste, Castiel, Arabella; brothers, Todd Schlott of Beckemeyer, and B.J. Schlott (Deanna) of Alton; and sisters, Cindy (Jim) Kues of Aviston, and Wendy Meadows of Troy.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle, IL. Interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, June 4, from 9:00-10:00 A.M.
