More details released on Salem man arrested for alleged possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine

A 64-year-old Salem man arrested on a warrant for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine appeared for the first time in Marion County Court on Tuesday.

James Whisler of East Olive is charged in the offense of having possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Bond will remain at $30,000. The Public Defender was appointed to represent Whisler who is due back in court on June 21st for a preliminary hearing.

The warrant was issued on May 24th when it was sealed until Whisler’s arrest. He was taken into custody at his home Monday night by Salem Police who took him to the Marion County Jail.

No other details have been released about what led up to the arrest.
