A 61-year-old Rockford trucker was stuck inside his rig for a brief time during the noon hour after live power lines fell across the trailer when he clipped a guy wire when attempting to turn to back up.
The incident occurred on Edgewood Road near the Tonti Road intersection northeast of Salem.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Jeffrey Lindberg was not hurt and was able to get out of the truck without incident after Tri-County Electric cut power to the downed lines. A power pole also broke after the guy wire was hit.
Salem Firemen stood by until Lindberg was out of the truck.
