The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports both drivers refused medical attention following a sideswipe crash Saturday afternoon on U.S. 50 at the Farthing Road on the west side of Odin.
The sheriff’s department reports a car driven by 28-year-old Fernado Torres of Cicero was traveling eastbound when he fell asleep and went into the westbound lane where he hit an oncoming vehicle driven by 38-year-old Brandi Timm of Robin Road in Salem. Reports indicate the Torres vehicle hit the driver’s side rear tire of Timm’s vehicle.
Both were checked at the scene by Odin Fire first responders and United Medical Response.
Torres was ticketed for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 3:15 Saturday afternoon.
