A 30-year-old resident of a CILA home on the Selmaville Road in rural Salem was formally charged in Marion County Court on Monday with aggravated battery to a staff member.
Laurence McCullan is accused of impeding the breathing of a female employee by applying pressure to her neck.
McCullan was arrested at the CILA home last Friday after the incident was reported to police.
The employee was treated on the scene by EMT’s, but did not require hospitalization.
McCullan was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bond with the understanding he would have no contact with the victim and he seek mental health evaluation and treatment. The Public Defender was appointed to represent him.
