The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department reports a large amount of methamphetamine was seized following a Friday traffic stop on Route 37 at the East Middle Road intersection.
The department reports that 38-year-old Anthony Mannino of Montgomery, Illinois was initially stopped due to poor driving habits.
The subsequent investigation revealed Mannino appeared to be intoxicated and in possession of a significant amount of methamphetamine.
He was taken into custody for driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound, possession of methamphetamine between 100 and 400 grams, and possession of meth between 100 and 400 grams with intent to deliver.
Bond was set over the weekend at $78,000.
