The Salem Wildcats made it 4 straight wins to finish off the regular season with a 2-1 win at Flora. Salem trailed 1-0 after the first inning but Brogan Gregg tied it with a solo home run in the 2nd and the Cats took the lead for good in the 3rd when Griffin Day was hit with the bases loaded driving in the 2nd run. Blane Phillips, Hunter Daniels and Eli Rose had the other Salem hits. Aden Susmena added a run. Day was the winning pitcher going all 7 innings allowing 4 hits and a run, not earned, with 8 strikeouts. Salem finishes the regular season at 13-20. They will open up the 2a post season on Wednesday night in Vandalia when they play the Teutopolis Wood Shoes at 6pm on WSIQ.
The North Clay Cardinals fell to 26-6 on the season falling on the road at Breese Central 12-4. In the loss, Collyn Ballard went 2-3 with 2 runs scored; Donnie Zimmerman added a double and drove in 2 with RBI also from Brady Ingram, Carson Burkett and Dakota Weidner.
Christ Our Rock fell to Mulberry Grove 14-7, for the Aces, Blake Scoggins went 4-5 with a triple, home run and drove in 6. For the Stallions, they got RBI from Jayden Bazile, Lendon Isaiah, Brayden Such and Colton Oelze.
