The Salem Township Hospital Employee of the Year is Doris Lux. She will celebrate her 20th year at the hospital next January. Lux was one of 13 nominated for the award this year.
The President of the Salem Hospital Foundation Myron Lloyd read from her nomination letter.
“She is very dependable, conscientious, and has a good attitude. She is dedicated to this hospital, works long hard hours on various shifts, leads by example, fills in, and still smiles.”
Lux says she was surprised when her name was announced.
I was totally shocked. I didn’t even realize it would be me. I do my stuff every day and that’s all I do and when they called my name I thought ‘what did I do so special.”
Lux will receive $1,000 cash, a personal plaque, and her name engraved on a plaque to be located in the hospital.
The joint recognition project during hospital week each year is sponsored by the Salem Township Hospital Foundation with Dr. and Mrs. Lakshmanan.
The other twelve finalists are Eydee Bumgarner, Carrie Bushue, Kristina Butts, Kim Coffman, Owen Donoho, Becky Goldsboro, Stephanie Jones, Kristina Lehman, Donna Owens, Amy Thurman, Erin Wenzel, and Torin Wright.
