A 50-year-old New Baden man was killed when a car made a left-hand turn in front of him on Illinois Route 177 at Circle 8 Road in Washington County.
State Police say Mark Thompson was ejected from the cycle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Preliminary investigative details indicate a car driven by 42-year-old Jason Foley of Okawville was traveling eastbound when it make a left turn and collided with the westbound motorcycle.
Both Foley and a 12-year-old male from Okawville who was a passenger in his car did not report any injuries.
Foley was ticketed for failure to yield at a yield intersection.
The crash occurred at three Sunday afternoon.
