It was opening night at the Little League Complex.
In Junior League it was Elks over Casey’s 9-1. In the win, Brayden Wood went 3 innings on the mound with 8 strikeouts in the win and crushed a 3-run homer in the top of the 4th into the wind. Jarrett Rushing went 2-3 scoring twice, Landen Maxey scored 3 times and Tyree Wilborn reached base twice and scored. For Casey’s, Angel Salgado scored the lone run and went 3.2 innings on the mound with 7 ks. Evan Barnes singled and Kyler King hit a long gapper for a triple.
People’s National Bank beat Salem Tire 11-3. Cam Carmichael went 3-3 with 2 RBI, Brody Collier and Alijah Carroll also drove in 2 each with Aaden “The Rooster” Rostance going 3 innings allowing 1 earned run and struck out 5 in getting the win.
In Little League Minors, Security Alarm shutout Crouse Funeral Home 6-0. Security Alarm got their offense going early with an RBI from Devan Jennings in the opening inning and 3 more in the 3rd led by Jennings, Jacob Butts and Cooper Burkett with RBI. Butts was the winning pitcher going 2.2 allowing no hits and no runs with 8 strikeouts and just 1 walk. Dakota Gregg was on the mound for Crouse going 4 innings. Emit Gibson also had multiple hits for the winners.
Squibb tank rallies in the 5th to beat State Farm 9-5. Going into the top of the 5th inning, Kert Martin State Farm had a 5-3 lead. Squibb tank tank rallied to score 6 beating State Farm 9-5. State Farm had 2 hits from Ben Skibinski. Squibb tank was led by Tanner Puritan with 2 in the park homeruns. Kert Martin State Farm returns to action 5:30 on Friday against Edward Jones.
In softball action, Modern Woodmen beat Marion County Savings Bank 5-3. In the win, Regan Shuler struck out 6 in the circle. Jocelyn Sanderson had 2 hits with singles also from Willow Ambrugey and Emily Jones. In the loss, Bria Murray had 4 strikeouts and added 2 hits at the plate.
In Coach Pitch Softball, All State Insurance beat Max Dye 8-2. Julianna Rushing, Gwen Goostree, Abbi Haines, Briah Henseler and Allie Pryor all had multiple hits.
Country Financial played Route 50 Auto Repair and edged them out 8-6 in a well played game. Country Financial was lead by Benson Orrill, Garrett Hunter, Levi Knapp, Reed Knapp and Greyson James all recording out defensively. At the plate, Reed Knapp, Orrill, James, Jace Alden and Hunter were all 2-2. Levi Knapp, Ryder Gambill and Dawson Thomason all added a hit.
The T-Ball Players of the Game for Joe’s Pizza were Baylee Nix and Mya Spradlin.
