The SC 13u Storm Chasers won their 3rd straight GMB Tournament over the weekend winning the Mothers Day Bash in Glencoe, Missouri.
The championship game was the 2nd straight title game for the Storm Chasers that they’ve won in extra innings knocking off the StL Grinders 7-5 in extra innings yesterday. SC got up 5-0 after 2.5 innings, but the Grinders got all 5 runs back in their half of the 3rd to setup the exciting finish. Avery Gullion went 2-3 with a double, run and RBI, Trent Ingram drove home 2. SC also got 2 hits each from Hayden Prather, Boston Isaacs, Garrett Shumate. Isaacs, Sebastian Kruger also added RBI. On the mound, Boston Isaacs started the game going 3 innings allowing 7 hits and 5 runs, only 2 earned. Ingram worked the final 3.2 innings.
SC won their semifinal game 8-4 over the Midwest Rebels. Austin Grieve went 2-3 with 4 RBI for SC, Kaiden Harrell drove in 2 runs and Luke Shumate added an RBI. Payton Gullion singled and scored along with Ingram and Garrett Shumate.
SC opened the tournament on Saturday beating the Midwest Rebels 5-3 as SC had to overcome a 3-0 deficit after the opening inning and did it with 2 runs in the 2nd and single tallies in the 3rd, fourth and fifth innings. Grieve went 2-2 with 2 runs scored, Garret Shumate homered going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Isaacs singled and Kaiden Harrell added a hit and RBI. Trent Ingram started and worked 3 innings with Boston Isaacs also working 3 solid.
SC dropped their only game of the tournament to the Moco Tribe 8-1. Ingram went 2-2 with an RBI, Isaacs added 2 hits with Garret Shumate adding a hit. Payton Gullion scored a run. Garret Shumate worked 1.2 allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs. Hayden Prather worked the n3xt 2.1 allowing 4 hits and 3 runs. Avery Gullion worked a 1-2-3 final inning.
SC returns to action when they host Brownstown for a double header Wednesday in St Peter before heading to the Olney Tournament this weekend.
