Marie E. Towler, 83, of Patoka, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at her home in Patoka, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Patoka United Methodist Church, Patoka, IL with Pastor Kevin Kriesel officiating. Burial will follow at Pratt Cemetery, Rural Patoka, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the church and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials: Patoka United Methodist Church and/or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She was born September 3, 1938, in Patoka, IL, the daughter of Eugene Cecil & Nellie Latitia (Eagin) Black. Married Robert J. Towler on June 16, 1971, in Patoka, IL, he passed away on November 25, 2013. She was a former secretary for Dr. Basch’s office for 20 years and worked at World Color Press for 20 years before retiring. Growing up with all boys, Marie even learned how to milk cows with the boys on the family farm. Marie was a member of Patoka United Methodist Church, Patoka, IL. She was famous for her hot rolls and slaw that she prepared for family dinners.

She is survived by: Brother – Dean Black & Elloise, Vandalia, IL; Several Nephews & Nieces; and Special Friend – Jackie Orrell.

Preceded in death by Her parents; Husband; and Brothers – Eugene, Jesse, Lyle, Earl, and Frank.
