John William Holzhauer, 63, of Kinmundy, passed away at 3:15 am, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Odin Health Care Center in Odin, Illinois. John attended the Pontiac Township High School. He worked as a truck driver for many different trucking companies for over 30 years. John was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan, and Green Bay Packers fan.
It was John’s wishes for cremation and no services to be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SSM Hospice in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and will be accepted through the funeral home. The McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy is assisting the family with the arrangements. John is survived by his 2 sons; John Holzhauer, Jr. of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Jeremy Holzhauer, of Joliet, Illinois, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings; Janice Winks, of Kinmundy, Janet Duncan, of Kinmundy, Marsha (LeRoy) Meister, of Fairbury, Illinois, Jeff (Renia) Holzhauer, of Pontiac, Illinois, Rod (Jennifer) Holzhauer, of Minonk, Illinois, Michael (Karrie) Sexton, of Kinmundy, a step-brother; Brian (Karen) Hornickel, of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, step-mother Dolores Holzhauer, of Fairbury, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was born on July 26, 1958, in Pontiac, Illinois the son of Paul L. and Doris (Kindelberger) Holzhauer. John was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law; Gerald and Bonnie Holzhauer, 2 brothers-in-law; Robert Winks, and Jack Duncan.
