A three-vehicle crash in Wayne County has sent two Clay County residents to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
State Police say the crash occurred on US 45 at County Road 2250 North about two miles south of the Clay County line. The preliminary investigation indicates a three-axle truck driven by 41-year-old James Riley of Ramsey started a three-vehicle chain-reaction crash. He first hit an SUV stopped in traffic driven by 40-year-old Tricia Colclasure of Flora. The impact pushed Colclasure into a Jeep stopped in front of her waiting to make a left turn driven by 49-year-old Ericka Spicer of Louisville.
Both Colclasure and Spicer were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Riley was not hurt. He was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 1:20 Wednesday afternoon. One lane of US 45 was closed for approximately two hours.
