Franklin Park hosted the Class L Region 6 Track Meet at SCHS yesterday.
The Bobcats won the boys event with 187 points followed by Olney with 149 and Centralia 78.
Trey Clark won the 7th grade 100, Payton Gullion won the varsity 400 with Hunter Malan 2nd, Malan won the 800 with Alex Spencer 2nd, Salem went 1-2 in the 1600 with Robby Shober and Spencer, Ryegan Warren was 2nd in the 100m hurdles and also qualified in the high jump. Also moving on to state was the 4×200 7th grade team of Trey Clark, Payton and Avery Gullion and Madden Thompson were less than a second off the school record and advance along with the 4×400 team of Shober, Gullion, Gullion and Malan finished in 4:01.97 winning the race by almost 11 seconds. Holden Richardson won the pole vault, Noah Timm was 2nd in both the shot and discus with Morgan Mickens winning the discus.
The Salem girls were first with 164 points followed by Olney with 122 and Mt Vernon Casey with 70.5.
For the Lady Bobcats, the 4×100 team of Finley Puricelli, Kinsey Jarrett, Addison Bullard and Marah Johnson won their race and advance to state along with the 4×200 team of Jordan Kessler, Puricelli, Maddy Dulaney and Jarrett. Bullard won the 100m hurdles as well as the high jump with Kessler 2nd. Ruthie Hays and Aubrey Bandy tied for 2nd in the pole vault, Jarrett was 2nd in the long jump, Johnson won the shot with Hannah Smith winning the discus.
