Salem Wildcats Earn 5th Seed, Lady Cats 4th In Upcoming Post Season

The baseball and softball sectional seeds have been announced for Classes 1a and 2a.  In 1a baseball at the Effingham St Anthony Sectional, North Clay will be a regional host and the top seed followed by #2 St Anthony, then SC 3rd and another NTC team Altamont will be 4th and a regional site.

Feeding into the Greenville Sectional will be Sub-Sectional A with Waterloo Gibault the top seed and a regional site with Carlyle #4 and also hosting a regional.  Christ Our Rock is the 6 seed with Odin/Patoka/Sandoval 8th.

In 2a feeding into the TTown Sectional will be the Salem Wildcats who are the 5th seed with a 9-19 record heading into today.  Paris is the top seed with Newton 2 and a regional site, Flora 3 and TTown 4.  The other regional site will be Vandalia.  Salem avoids Sub-Sectional B that will include Breese Central, Columbia, Father McGivney, Marquette, Mater Dei just to name some.  Nashville, Freeburg and Carterville will be in a sectional that feeds into the Benton Sectional.

The Salem Lady Cats will be a regional host as well as the 4-seed in Sub-Sectional A feeding into the Gillespie Sectional.  Gillespie is the top seed with Newton and Staunton 2-3 followed by Salem.  Vandalia is the other Regional site.  The Lady Cats avoid the other Sub-Sectional that will feature Freeburg, Mater Dei, Central and Columbia.
