Margaret M. Comper, 98, of Central City, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Fireside House of Centralia. A life-long resident of Central City, Mrs. Comper was employed as a cook for Central City Grade School for 23 years until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Central City. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
A Graveside Service for Margaret M. Comper will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Central City with Rev. Paula Comper officiating. Margaret is survived by a daughter Sue Ellen Smith of Centralia. Five grandchildren: Jessica Comper of Salem, Jason Comper of Salem, Chris Smith of Centralia, Ryan Smith and wife Cassie of Glen Carbon, and Justin Smith of Centralia. Also surviving is five great grandchildren.
Margaret was born May 31, 1923 in Central City, the daughter of Wirt R. and Minnie (Pytlick) Anderson. She married Paul Comper in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Colin Anderson and her son Gary Comper.
