The Village of Sandoval holds a ribbon-cutting Saturday afternoon for nearly $400,000 in park improvements and will hold a field dedication ceremony for the Steve Walker Memorial Field.
Everyone is welcome to the program that begins at three Saturday afternoon. After the ribbon-cutting and field dedication, there will be a tour of the park and all the renovations along with food and refreshments. An Alumni fun game will immediately follow the ceremony.
Sandoval received a $344,300 OSLAD grant and provided $38,340 in matching funds to make the ball field and playground improvements. The village also combined some TIF money with funds donated for the park from the Sandoval community development corporation to build the kitchen under the pavilion.
Walker is being honored for his tireless work to provide recreational activities to the Sandoval area.
