A 26-year-old Wausau, Wisconsin man has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to a reduced misdemeanor charge of battery.
Jonathan Sanchez-Anaya had initially been charged with aggravated battery to a nurse following the incident in November of last year at Salem Township Hospital.
Sanchez-Anaya was sentenced to two years probation, ordered to undergo mental health evaluation and treatment, and make a $250 contribution to the Salem Township Hospital Foundation.
The incident occurred after Sanchez-Anaya ran out of the hospital emergency room, confronted an employee in the parking lot and took their phone before going back inside and striking the nurse during a conversation that also included Salem Police.
