Great weather and a two years absence of the consignment auction brought out a large crowd to bid on blocks of items lining the streets around downtown Alma on Saturday.
The event is sponsored by the Village of Alma. Mayor Russell Swift was pleased.
“Two years of being off we have a heck of a crowd. Really happy with what came in too. We have probably 5 or 6 streets full of stuff and everything seems to be selling pretty good.”
Swift hopes by the time they settle up with everyone who brought items to the consignment auction they will clear $2,000 to $3,000 that will be used to purchase additional Christmas decorations for Alma.
