2022 04/29 – Willim F. ‘Bill’ Zinke

William F. “Bill” Zinke, 59, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on April 22, 2022, at his residence in Mount Vernon. He was born December 17, 1962, in Belleville, Illinois to the late Frank and Patricia Ann Marie (Rhoads) Zinke.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Alecia Mellott and husband, Blake of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Erika Zinke and fiancé, Chad Bishop of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Angela Rae Boswell and husband, Rodger of O’Fallon, Illinois, Andrea M. Becicka and husband, Brandon of Southlake, Texas; nieces, Breanna Boswell, Bailey Boswell, Brennan Becicka; a half brother, Kim Zinke; one aunt; and several cousins.

Bill was a kitchen manager at Trackside in Mount Vernon. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past member of Mount Vernon Rotary. Bill was a huge Cardinals, Blues, and Illini basketball fan. Bill enjoyed playing golf and was quite good at it. In his younger years, he was very active in all sports. Bill was a loving father and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10:30 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Bill’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
